and making in metal, first using Copper to practice, before working in Silver . You will be taught how to create a pair of earrings, a pendant and a band ring using traditional hand tools, equipment and techniques.

This three part course is Ideal for beginners and will give you a brief introduction to working in a studio workshop environment, at a jewellers' bench, learning to saw pierce, hand form, texture metal, solder, file, sand and finish silver. Class sizes are small and friendly, providing a focused and concentrated experience for students at one of three jewellery bench spaces, which means you will receive more 1: 1 tuition from the Tutor, with less waiting to use equipment or asking for help than you might in a larger class size.

You have the added benefit of being taught by a practicing and experienced Jewellery Designer who exhibits and sells her own work at Jewellery Fairs, independent shops and gallaries, as well as having prior experience of teaching Art & Design at FE Colleges and Jewellery School evening classes in Sheffield.

The Jewellery Hive, Studio 25 is based at Yorkshire Artspace, Persistence Works building on Brown Street in the heart of the city centre, only a 5 minute walk from the railway and bus stations for those wishing to commute and very close to Sheffield Art galleries, markets, shops and cafes.
